It is interesting to see quantum voting moving beyond theoretical protocols into real-world laboratory experiments.
The key question isn’t whether quantum computers can count votes, but whether quantum mechanics itself can strengthen ballot secrecy and election integrity — potentially reducing the need to trust central authorities or underlying cryptographic assumptions.
The experiments are still tiny and significant engineering challenges remain, particularly around scale and coercion resistance. But the transition from security proofs to physical demonstrations is an important step for the field.
