Two Executive Orders signed this week, one commits to building a quantum computer powerful enough for real scientific discovery by 2028. The other mandates federal agencies migrate to post-quantum cryptography by 2030, with hard deadlines and named accountability.
Also, big things happening in Boston, MA this week, with the Quantum.Tech World summit seeing 1000+ innovators, leaders and decision makers from 40+ countries in attendance.
The UK is not standing still though; we saw up to £2 billion committed this March through ProQure, the world’s first government quantum procurement programme. OQC just closed Europe’s largest ever private quantum round, Quantinuum is heading for IPO and the National Quantum Computing Centre is building the infrastructure to make it real.
